Few notes:

1) The font I used is Lobster 1.4.
2) You can download my cross pattern here
3) you can download the stripe pattern for my final text layer here
my figures differed a little for the pattern overlay of the final text layer; blend mode:multiply, opacity:50, scale:250
4) I found it easier to work with the elliptical tool to create the circles.
5) Play around with the distance of the texts' drop layers to get the desired look
